Letter M coloring page
A big outlined capital M with two peaks, and a tracing row of four dotted M's on a dotted baseline underneath. It suits children from about three to six. Trace the four strokes in order, down, up, down, up, and say the sound. Moon, mouse and monkey begin with M. Color the two peaks like two mountains with snow on top. Prints on A4 or US Letter.

How to use the letter M page
The capital M has two tall peaks, while the small m is short and round, with two humps side by side. Color both, then trace the peaks of the capital and the humps of the small m with a finger. Many children say the small m looks like a camel's back.
For the capital, draw the left post down, slant down to the middle, slant back up, then draw the right post down. For the small m, go down a short line, back up, over one hump and over a second hump. The sound is a hum with closed lips, the one we make for yummy food: milk, mom, mitten. Play a humming game: every time you spot an M on a cereal box or a sign, hum mmm.
Questions
What is the difference between small m and small n?
The small m has two humps and the small n has one. Counting the humps out loud while tracing is an easy way to remember which is which.
Can I make a coloring page from my child's photo?
Yes. Coolorio can turn your own photo into a coloring page, and the first one is free. It is a nice addition to the letter pages, for example a picture of your child next to their first letter.
What age suits the letter M?
Most children enjoy it from about three to six. The four strokes of the capital M take some practice, so younger children can focus on coloring and older ones on the tracing row.
