Letter B coloring page
A big outlined capital B with two round bumps, and a row of four dotted B's underneath for tracing, sitting on a dotted baseline. Made for children from about three to six. Color the two inner holes of the B in a different color from the letter, then trace the small ones and say the sound. Ball, bear and banana all start with B: draw one of them beside the letter. Fits A4 and US Letter.

How to use the letter B page
The capital B and the small b sit side by side on this page. The capital has a tall line with two bumps on the right, one on top of the other. The small b has the same tall line but only one round bump, down at the bottom. Color the two letters, then point to the bumps and count them together: two for the big B, one for the small b.
To write the capital, go straight down, then add the top bump and the bottom bump. For the small b, go straight down, come back up halfway and round the bump. The sound is a short puff with closed lips, as in bus, bed and bubble. If you have play-dough, roll one long snake for the line and short ones for the bumps, and build both letters on the table next to the page.
Questions
My child mixes up b and d. Is that normal?
Yes, very common. Many children swap b and d until around seven. One trick: for the small b the tall line comes first, then the round belly. Saying it out loud while tracing helps the order stick.
What should my child trace with?
A chunky crayon or a thick soft pencil is easiest for small hands. Thin markers can bleed on printer paper. Let them trace the dotted letters slowly, and do not worry if the line wanders off the dots at first.
Can I print the letter B page for my class?
Yes. All Coolorio pages are free for personal and classroom use, so you can print as many copies as you need on A4 or US Letter. They are not for resale.
