A wide curtain of water pours over a rocky cliff into a cloud of round, puffy spray in this simple drawing of Victoria Falls, on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Bushy trees sit on the clifftops, small islands float on the river above, and the water winds away between rocks at the bottom. Its local name, Mosi-oa-Tunya, means the smoke that thunders. With thick lines and big spaces, it suits kids aged about 2 to 5. Use light blue crayon for the water and leave the spray white.

Water tumbles over a long, jagged cliff edge at Victoria Falls, where the Zambezi River plunges between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Thick spray billows up from the gorge, tree-covered islands dot the river above, and a smaller side fall drops on the left. Leafy bushes, flat-topped trees and broad plants frame the narrow gorge, with a winding stream and rocks below. Children aged about 5 to 10 will like the big, clear shapes. Blend two or three blues with colored pencils on the falls, leaving bits of white paper showing for foam. Prints on A4 or US Letter.

From a rocky lookout shaded by a leafy tree, the view drops into the gorge at Victoria Falls, between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Zambezi spreads wide and calm above, dotted with small wooded islands, then breaks into ribbons of water over the cliff edge. Clouds of spray rise from below, and sheer basalt walls on both sides are fringed with bushes. Ferns, broad leaves and boulders fill the foreground. The fine lines suit older kids and adults. Try pastel pencils: misty blue for the spray, warm sienna for the rock and fresh green for the plants.

A greater kudu with spiral horns stands on the left and hornbills perch in the corners of this dense scene at Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Water thunders over columns of rock into a swirling pool, while a steel arch bridge spans the gorge at the far right under a radiant sun. Protea-like flowers and patterned leaves fill every edge. The real Victoria Falls Bridge opened in 1905. Built for experienced adult colorists, this page suits gel pens in turquoise and gold over a base of earthy browns.
