A tall pointed mountain rises behind the stone ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru on this beginner page. Big blocks form walls, terraces and little staircases, and three small houses with peaked roofs sit among the ruins. Round bushes, rolling hills and grassy tufts fill the edges. The simple, thick shapes are easy for children aged 2 to 5 to color. This Inca city was built high in the Andes mountains more than 500 years ago. Color the stones gray and brown and the mountain a deep green with crayons.

Jagged peaks surround the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in Peru, seen from above with its stone houses, terraced fields and a grassy central plaza. The famous steep mountain rises behind the ruins, and two small trees grow among the walls. Big boulders and a spiky plant fill the bottom left corner, and three clouds float in the sky. Children aged 5 to 10 will enjoy the many walls and roofless buildings to fill. Try a cool morning palette, with misty blues for the far mountains and fresh greens for the terraces.

Ruined stone houses, staircases and terraces spread across a mountain ridge in this fine-line view of Machu Picchu in Peru. Huayna Picchu, the steep peak behind the citadel, towers over the scene with more Andean summits beyond. A lone tree stands on the central plaza, dense forest covers the slopes, and big spiky-leaved plants and boulders fill the foreground. The site sits about 2,400 meters above sea level. Older kids and adults will enjoy the careful stonework. Use layered colored pencils in moss green, slate and warm gray to give depth.

A llama with a patterned neck stands in the foreground of this richly detailed Machu Picchu page from Peru, while a condor-like bird perches on a rock on the right. Behind them, the stone terraces and houses of the Inca citadel climb toward the steep peak of Huayna Picchu. Every mountain is filled with tiny textures, the sun shines among spiral clouds, and tropical leaves and lilies cover the edges of the page. Perfect for experienced adult colorists. Try earthy alpaca browns and creams for the llama, then contrast them with deep jungle greens.
