A wide stone path winds toward you along the Great Wall of China, with notched battlements on both sides and two watchtowers topped by curved roofs. Puffy bushes and a gentle hill fill the background, and a third tower sits far away on a ridge. The thick, simple outlines and big paving stones make this a calm first landmark for children aged about 2 to 5. The wall was built and rebuilt over many centuries to protect northern China. Try a warm tan crayon for the stones and bright green for the bushes. Prints on A4 or US Letter.

Under a round sun and a few soft clouds, the Great Wall of China snakes over forested hills toward faraway watchtowers. In front, a big tower with a tiled pagoda roof stands beside a brick walkway lined with battlements, while a leafy tree and rounded boulders frame the right side. Kids aged 5 to 10 will enjoy the brick patterns without getting lost in tiny shapes. Much of the wall visited near Beijing dates from the Ming dynasty. Use colored pencils in layered greens for the hills, darker near the front and lighter toward the mountains.

Steps climb from a wide paved walkway up to a square watchtower with arched doorways and a carved tiled roof, and from there the Great Wall of China ribbons across steep wooded ridges to more towers on distant peaks. Jagged mountains, rocky outcrops and dozens of leafy trees build a deep, full scene in fine lines. This page suits older kids and adults who like architecture and landscapes. The wall stretches for thousands of miles across northern China. Fine-tip markers in sage, olive and slate will help the brickwork and forest read as separate layers.

Big peony blossoms and broad leaves crowd the foreground while the Great Wall of China twists away through a forest so dense that every treetop is its own little shape. Watchtowers with upturned roofs dot the ridges, pine branches reach in from the sides, and a sun peeks between swirling clouds above layered mountains. Filled edge to edge, this page is made for experienced adult colorists who enjoy long sessions. The wall has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Pick a limited palette, such as soft pink peonies against muted jade greens. Prints on A4 or US Letter.
