A grand palace hall from the Forbidden City in Beijing, China, sits on a raised stone terrace, with a double roof whose corners curl upward and small decorative figures on the ridge. A wide staircase with chunky railings leads up to the doors, and lower side buildings peek out on the left and right. Bold, clean outlines and lots of open space suit little colorists aged 2 to 5. For centuries this palace was the home of China's emperors. A golden yellow roof over red columns makes a cheerful, true to life combination.

Two stone guardian lions sit on pedestals at the start of a long paved path leading to a magnificent hall in the Forbidden City, Beijing, China. Carved balustrades line the way, several staircases climb the terraces, and the double roof shows rows of tiles and dragon-like ridge ornaments. Fluffy clouds float in the sky. Children aged 5 to 10 can practice staying inside the lines on the steps and railings. The palace served Ming and Qing emperors for nearly 500 years. Color the roof tiles yellow and the walls deep red, the classic imperial colors. Prints on A4 or US Letter.
