Big, bold blocks make this step pyramid an easy first trip to Chichén Itzá on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The temple, known as El Castillo, rises in stacked terraces with one wide staircase running up the middle to a small square shrine with a doorway on top. Little tufts of grass and round bushes sit at its base. The thick outlines and large spaces suit children aged about 2 to 5. Try coloring the stone blocks in sandy yellow and tan crayon, then add bright green for the bushes. Prints on A4 or US Letter.

Under a round sun and puffy clouds, the great pyramid of Chichén Itzá in Yucatán, Mexico, stands on a grassy plaza. Two staircases climb its stepped sides to the temple at the top, where small dark doorways peek out. Leafy trees fill the background, while rocks and spiky plants frame the foreground. Each staircase has 91 steps, and with the top platform they add up to 365, one for every day of the year. Kids aged about 5 to 10 will enjoy it: color the stone in warm ochre with markers and keep the sky light blue.

Framed by a leafy branch overhead, the Temple of Kukulcán at Chichén Itzá, Mexico, fills this page with fine stonework. Every block, cornice and step is drawn, and two long staircases rise between stone balustrades to the shrine on top. Wispy clouds drift behind the temple, jungle trees line the horizon, and broad spiky leaves and tumbled stone ruins crowd the foreground. Older kids and adults will find plenty to linger over. Colored pencils work best here: layer beige and soft gold on the stone, then deepen one side of the pyramid for a sunlit look.

Dense jungle wraps around the Chichén Itzá pyramid in this edge-to-edge page from Mexico's Yucatán. A toucan and a parrot perch in the top corners beside a patterned sun, a spotted jaguar rests on a carved stone wall at bottom right, and a feathered serpent head with spiral ornaments juts out on the left. Hibiscus flowers, monstera leaves and a carved face in profile fill every gap, while the temple itself is covered in glyph-like tiles. Made for experienced adult colorists, it shines in a jewel-tone palette of emerald, turquoise and deep orange using fine-tip markers.
