How to use the face page
Because the face fills the whole sheet, it works well taped to a wall or the side of a changing table at your baby's eye level, about 20 to 30 cm away. Newborns see bold high-contrast shapes best at that distance and look longer at them. Print it on the darkest setting so the black areas come out solid.
Try a simple back and forth: let your baby look at the page, then lean in so your own face is beside it, and smile. Talk about the eyes and the mouth, and make the same expression yourself. Watch for cues; when your baby turns away or starts to fuss, take the page down or move on. An older brother or sister can color a copy of the face for their own room.
Questions
Where should I put the face page?
Somewhere your baby can see it during supervised awake time, such as beside the changing table or propped near the play mat, about 20 to 30 cm away. Never inside the crib.
Can this page replace looking at me?
No. Your own face and voice are what babies look at most. Use the page alongside you, as something to look at together, not as a replacement for time with you.
Can I download the face page?
Yes. You can print it directly or download it as an SVG or PNG file, which is useful if you want to print it again later at the darkest printer setting.
