What Just Color does well
Just Color is a leader in adult coloring. Its library is deep in mandalas, art therapy designs, animals and travel scenes, and you can browse by style as well as by subject. If you are an adult who colors to relax, it has far more to choose from than Coolorio does.
It also covers eight languages, three more than Coolorio, including Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese. You can print or download a PDF without an account.
Just Color Studio, its photo tool, is the closest feature match to Coolorio that we found. When we checked, it offered one free coloring page a week, a detail scale with five levels from "Very simple" to "Very detailed", A4 in portrait or landscape, and PDF or PNG output. Extra pages come in credit packs with no subscription: $3.99 for 10, $8.99 for 30 and $15.99 for 60. That works out to about 27 to 40 cents a page, which is a low price.
What Coolorio does differently
Just Color sorts its library by difficulty, so an easy page and a hard page are usually different pictures. Coolorio draws the same picture at four levels. A four-year-old and a ten-year-old can color the same lion, each at the right level, and a parent can join in at expert. Our guide on choosing the right detail level by age explains the levels.
Coolorio leans toward children and families: toddler shapes, baby contrast cards, letters with a capital and a small letter, numbers with tracing rows, and holiday scenes. It also has mandalas and pages for grown-ups, but a smaller set. It shows no display ads, and every free page prints on A4 or US Letter or downloads as PNG, with SVG for geometric designs.
For photo pages, Coolorio needs no account for the first free page. Pages are private by default and never shown to other customers. The PDF comes in A4, US Letter or A3, with an optional name, age and photo date. Paid page packs are coming soon while the site finishes its launch.
