A happy cartoon turtle with a big round shell walks across a few tufts of grass. Thick lines and large shell segments make it one of the easiest animal pages, made for toddlers and preschoolers with chunky crayons. Let them pick a different color for each shell section, then a green for the head and legs. Prints on A4 or US Letter.

Out for a walk in the park, a happy turtle with a big grin carries a shell made of neat hexagon plates. A leafy tree, round bushes, tufts of grass, two smooth rocks and a pair of flowers fill the meadow, with fluffy clouds and a bright sun above. The shapes are well defined and easy to color, ideal for kids aged 5 to 10. Try a different green in each shell plate for a patchwork effect.

A tortoise walks through a summer meadow full of wildflowers, with a lake, trees and hills in the background. Every plate of the shell and the scaly legs are drawn in fine lines, so it suits older children from about eight and adults. Try warm browns and ochres for the shell, olive greens for the skin, and soft blues for the lake and sky to give the scene depth. Prints on A4 or US Letter.

Each plate of this tortoise's shell holds a flower mandala, and its legs and neck are covered in pebbly scales. It plods through a lush garden by a wooden fence and a tree trunk, joined by a butterfly, a spiral-shelled snail and a little ladybug. Flowers and leaves fill every inch of the page. A detailed, edge-to-edge project for experienced adult colorists. Try earthy browns and olive greens on the tortoise, then let the flowers burst into bright pinks and oranges. Prints on A4 or US Letter.
