Hugging a tree branch with both arms, a cheerful koala with fluffy round ears and a big oval nose smiles out from the page. A few long eucalyptus leaves sprout from the branch, and there is nothing else to distract from the large, easy shapes. Thick outlines make it ideal for toddlers and preschoolers aged about 2 to 5. Try soft gray for the fur, a darker gray for the nose and fresh green for the leaves, using chunky crayons or washable markers.
High in a gum tree, a smiling koala clings to the trunk while long, slender leaves dangle from the branches around it. Behind the tree you can spot the sun, two puffy clouds, a gentle hill and rounded bushes along the bottom. Children aged about 5 to 10 will enjoy the friendly character and the simple outdoor scene.
